This is a cool eco-friendly article. It's cool how scientists are trying to make cars like the race car shown out of recycled material. I was thinking that if they can do it for a race-car, why couldn't they do it for a regular car? It's also nice that they provide a video at the end of the clip to show the car in action on a race track.

Adding on to my other comment, why couldn't they make cars that used the type of engine in this car, and then distribute the chocolate, plant oil and animal fat oil to regular people? That would save a lot of money for our country, and make a smaller impact on the environment.

Well I watch Living with Ed (Planet Green, Ed is Ed Begley Jr.), so I am semi-familiar with bio-diesel. Literally, you can use vegetable oil to run a car (with some modifications), so they already can sort of distribute bio-diesel. I agree with you, Brandon, that they should distribute it in the mass-market. Maybe large auto companies can make cars that can have a free upgrade to bio-diesel.

Brandon, as much as it my be eco-friendly, think of the energy still being used to create the chocolate. I think part of the problem for making it for a regular car, is money.

I thought that this was a great article. I thought it was amazing that they could make a car run on chocolate. I thought is was really cool that even though it ran on chocolate it could reach a top speed of 135 miles per hour. I thought the author did a great job writing this article.

I thought the article was great! I love how every day the world is coming up with crazy new ways to be green. Of all the green products, this is by far the most interesting!

I thought that this is a great way to help the world get greener. As Emma said Even though it will help our world become greener it will still be expensive to make cars we drive on the road run on chocolate.

It is so important to be green to this environment. I thought it was not very informative, but still an important article. I hope that they make regular street cars like this. That would be good because then the pollution of cars would go down by maybe 100%! They could also improve the Formula 3 so it doesn't use animal fats and instead more environmentally sensible items. I agree with Dharan and Emma, it must cost a lot to make these cars; but why can't they simplify the engine and make it less costly to produce? This would really help the environment. Besides, why not make it run on just oils and let me eat the chocolate :)?

the idea of a race car being eco friendly is a great idea and you would think that theres something triggering in the motor that helps the speed this man must converted the formulas for engineering and other stuff like that the car is probably faster then normal because its weight is lighter than a regular race car because of its transformation of material

I am amazed that a car can now run on chocolate, plant oil, and animal fat, and reach speeds of up to 135 mph. But then if we do that what if we run out of chocolate... That means no more kit kats!!! Hope they can find something for cars to run on that is eco-friendly and doesn't devastate me! I also liked the video at the end.

Amazing! Wow, technology has come a long way! A car that can run on chocolate, animal fats, and plant oil... I also agree with Brandon F in his second comment. However, I think that the only problem with that is that the engine might just be more expensive than some people can afford to pay for an environmentally safe car. Wow... I was really amazed and found this article very interesting. :]

I do agree that chocolate can be put to better uses(like causing cavities and such), but this fuel make people think more creatively about how to make better fuel. Showing that you can make a useful fuel out of food products might make people more innovative. This is just a boost to help people be more creative.

The author did a good job writing this article. It is very interesting that they could make a race-car using chocolate--an amazing discovery. I do have to agree with Emma that we can't forget all of the energy that will be used to make all of the extra chocolate if these race-cars become more popular. Like Howard said, there are other alternatives that have already been used such as vegetable oil. Ms. Maulin even showed us how her friend used it. I think we do have to give credit to this "chocolate car" because it reaches a fantastic speed and may be a good step towards something even greater.

This really awesome. It is eco-friendly and its pretty fast too. Wo says you help the earth while going about 135 miles per hour. I think they should do this all the new cars that come out next year.

That was really interesting! It's really cool how that car's steering can be made out of something as simple as carrot pulp! One of my old friends didn't like chocolate and said that it never helped anyone. HAHA!! :D

Anyway, I think the author did a good job on writing this article. It was really informative, though I would have liked to know a little more on the topic

This was really cool to me. I agree with sophia I would have liked it to go into detail a bit more. I think it is a great contribution the eco friendly and the auto world. I enjoyed the video.

This is SO cool! I wonder how it smells behind the car. Other than that small smell detail, I think that the car structure part is a great idea, but running on chocolate is maybe not that good. Think about it: if the whole world ran on that, or even just racing cars, HOW MANY CHOCOLATE FACTORIES WOULD IT TAKE TO MAKE ENOUGH CHOCOLATE FOR THEM?! IT WOULD POLLUTE ALSO A GREAT DEAL! Sometimes I kind of wonder if people actually THINK before inventing something.

Can I eat this car's fuel excluding the animal fat? I wish. The article I just read was really interesting. I think the idea of using animal fats and chocolate to operate a race car is smart, because we don't eat animal fats, and we don't need as much as chocolate as we need other nutritious foods. I wonder if the car smells like chocolate when it drives? The only thing I don't like about the car is that it doesn't go as fast as other racecars, which can go up to 220 miles per hour. This car can only top 135 mph.

I thought that this article was really interesting. I think that it is great that scientists are trying to be "green" in things like running a car on chocolate! Who would have thought that you could run a car on a food! This car would probably save a lot of money on gas for people if this car becomes available to the public.

Kit kats aren't all chocolate. don't worry! your in luck!!!

its the wafers inside them that taste so good, and plus it's only one racecar that does that. I think it would be cool if real cars that are allowed for roads could run on only animal fats or oil. Luckily, some cars do run on oil from foods.

That is totally awesome! I love speed so this was the article for me. The clip at the end was really cool. I want to be able to drive this car someday.

I was gonna say what Noah said, why can't we eat the chocolate?

I really enjoyed this article and also way to go green!!!!! This was a very cool and scientists are trying to make a fuel made out of recycled material. It is also a very fast car it can go up to 135 mph and now that is what you call petal to the metal. I really enjoyed but running on recycled material is better for the planet but it can also use a lot of money.

This is really neat! I really like how the steering wheel is made partly from carrot pulp. Who would expect that? I hope the human race gets more eco-friendly ideas like this.

Griffin said...

I think this article is really neat. To make the earth green again, I heard that they would eliminate races and formula 3 racing cars, which made a lot of people unhappy. This way pleases both sides, the racers and keep their job and we get a cleaner planet. As some people had said earlier, does it cost more? Maybe it doesn't. I mean, the car is made out of woven flax, recycled resin, and steering wheel is made out of carrot pulp. Maybe it doesn't cost more.

I think that this article is amazing. I didn't know that anything that normally is such a big polluter could possibly be so green and eco-friendly. This is the best green product that I have ever heard of. And the best part is that we can make the fuel ourselves. Think of it; if you eat steak or any other kind of meat you can cut of the fat and put it into the solution, chocolate is practically a household item, and you can make vegetable oils yourself if you have some vegetables.
