I think that this little program could help people find out how to save resources and how they are actually living. For me, I had to guess most of the time (how many MPGs do my parent's cars have?). Anyways, mine said 4 earths, though I believe that that is pretty low compared to other people.

This is a good way to see how much of an impact you are making on our Earth and how many resources you need to survive. When I took it, it said 4-.5 Earths, slightly larger than Howard, probably still lower than most people. It is also very helpful of them to provide ways that they could reduce their footprint.

I really liked this. I learned how I can do better and help the environment by taking more public transportation. All in all, I think I did pretty well this year. What about next year's carbon footprint... I had better get more serious about helping are planet!

I also agree with Brandon Fong and Howard Deshong (hey that rimes!) that a little program such as this one can make a real difference on the earth. Howard, the average car has around 25 (I think) MPG these days.

I thought that this quiz was great. It is a great way to show how much you and most of the people around you eat every day. Sometimes I had to guess but most of the time I cold get the question's.

I LOVED this game. I found it really informative and I liked seeing other people take the survey, to see what their scores were. It also helped me realize how great the impacts of our needs are on the world. I also tried to see what would happen if we all used as little as the game would let you. It ended up being 3 WHOLE earths to accommodate us! I then tried the most possible, and it was 10 WHOLE earths!

this was a very cool program. It helped me see all the waste and other things i used per year. It was a very cool program that can help lot's of people find out how much and how little they use of earth.

If everyone in the whole world took the survey, people would see how big of an impact they are making and start to be aware about their actions and what they do everyday, like their commute to work. Then people would change their bad habits and change them to good habits. Then the world would be a lot greener. Instead of making green products, organizations should be talking to people more about what they do that hurts the environment.

I agree Claire. It is a good way for people who have internet to know how they can cut down on their carbon footprint.

4.7? Really? Wow. That's a lot of earth! I never knew that I was so "ungreen". Well, now I know how to help the environment. I can do a lot of things to help out, that's for sure. I think everyone should try this program, as it really helps teach you how to help the environment! Great game, Mrs. Ghazarian!

I read all the comments and agree with all of them. This program can really teach you about how you can survive. Just one bad thing was that it was really boring at the beggining.

This is really cool....but after you finished the quiz with COMPLETELY honest answers, you start to realize a good, healthy lifestyle for you might not be so good for the earth!! I think this will have an impact on some people, if they started to put this topic out into the open more. I believe people should know how they impact our society.

It's fun ONCE YOU GET THERE! I took me forever to load and all that, and I kept on going in a circle

I really like this but it REALLY freaks me out. I mean, it makes me feel kind of bad when it says I need about 3-4 Earths if everyone lived like me. I thought this was good, but a little freaky, because I know that not many people live like me (I recycle all the time, I never use the A.C) in America. Unfortunately, I know that United States have a huge worldly impact (I mean in the way of ecology) and consume a lot of energy, which means that the Earth's resources are drained very quickly. In fact, this is kind of worrying. (to me) Will we have to leave our planet soon?

That was very interesting. It was very fun to put in facts and get told what your carbon footprint is. I put in my whole family and it said it would take 7.1 earths. I think it over exadurates a little but it tells what I have to do to create a better footprint.

I think this program was really great for many reasons. It definitely made me more aware of how careful we need to be before we basically trash earth. Mine said I need about 5.7 earths. Many of the things we do such as driving to school, to work, my mother flying to Africa multiple times every year...are not things we can control. It shows how we need to pay more attention to things like this. I do agree with Brandon B. that it slightly exaggerates because if it really does take this many Earths for all of us, I think Earth would have been busted by now. Also, I think Gaby made a great point that if we want to live a healthy lifestyle, Earth may be in danger. Overall this was good to bring people to their senses about Earth's conditions.

I LOVE this thing!!!! I like the way that they can actually figure out what kind of personal footprint i have!!! I experimented a lot of combinations, and I found out that just changing one of the categories, a part of the pie-chart is completely different!!!

P.S.

I can't get to the knee surgery...

I feel that you can really see what you are doing to earth by playing this game, although, some of the question were just plain weird. I am not quite sure how many of the meat and food that I eat is imported. But, as I stated earlier, think that you can learn a quite a lot from this game. And it said 4.5 earths for me.

griffin said...

That is amazing! I never knew haw many earths it takes to support your average life style. It took 3.5 earths to support my lifestyle, and when I made everything green, only eating plants, green house, renewable electricity, it was still 2.6 earths!

Dana said...

That is so interesting how it measures it in Earths I got. 5.5, so I need to cut down.
