You would have never thought that catfish would be poisonous. They should study it more and maybe, they could extract the poison and use it for military purposes
I agree with Brandon F. I would have never thought that they would be poisonous. I am not surprised that foreign bodies con make that much damage. You would think that fisherman would have developed an antidote to the poison, but I guess not. But I really wonder how the fishermen get poisoned. The cat fish would have to be at such a close proximity because they can't shoot out the venom. There is this really cool lizard that bleeds blood mixed with venom out of its eyes and shoots it at the predator. The venom is made up of chemicals that have a chemical that stinks rot so the predator leaves. This article was really good.
It never would have occurred to me that a catfish could contain venom. For Noah, I think the fishermen get poisoned because their job actually requires them to be at close proximity with multiple types of fish. Maybe they accidentally pick some of these catfish up in their nets. I agree: this article was really interesting and well written.
I agree with Brandon F. i never thought a cute cat fish that looks nothing like a cat could be poisonous. i agree with Noah as well, they should create an antidote for the fishermen.
I thought that this was really cool!!!!!!! I never knew that a catfish could have venom! Overall, this article was really fascinating!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I thought that this article was really cool. I agree with Brandon because I would have never thought that catfish would be poisonous. I was surprised that the catfish was more like a snake than an actual fish.
I also agree with Brandon F, you could use the poison for military purposes. But I also wonder why scientists could not discover this earlier; couldn't they just dissect multiple species of catfish to find the numerous population of the poisonous ones. I'm glad that the more dangerous catfish live in other places. Overall I thought this was amazingly interesting.
Catfish? poisonis! I never thought that I could find anything about fish interesting! also they explain about the venom rather than telling you maybe overall it was very interesting
This was really well written. For some reason, I always assumed that since reading a Dr. Seuss book that catfish were poisonous. The odd thing is that my assumptions were real for once. Noah, people wouldn't have developed an antidote because in certain parts of the world don't have contact with the outside world.

@ Claire: They are not cute! @ Noah:They probably haven't come up with an antidote because they haven't studied the catfish's poison enough.
